This past Sunday during our Children’s Time, Nate Simmons helped us define “dare” as a challenge. So the challenge becomes—where to begin? If we are daring to dream of how we can be the church that God is calling us to be, perhaps we need to begin with what we believe.
In the seven months I have been with you, it is obvious, that we believe God is alive as a loving and forgiving God; we believe we have the resources to build ministries which will help our neighbors who are in need; we believe we are a growing and a live church filled with good and faithful people. We are challenged to dream, because we believe.
Nate was correct to help us think about our “dare” to dream as a challenge. We are willing to be challenged, to challenge others, to challenge old ways because we believe God needs us to be something more or different than we are right now. It is hard to do, but if it were easy, it wouldn’t be a challenge.
