We have spent the month of February daring to dream of who and how we might be the church. God is calling us to be at this time and in this place. I’d like to share with you a letter that was written to me on the back of the pew registration pad by the grandchildren of one of our church members.
God loves us. He cares for us. We are all brothers and sisters. If you come into a church and you have a clown suit or a Nike shirt on, God does not care, he is just glad you are here and you are here to stay. He loves you no matter what. He even cares about you and you know that. You are a son or a daughter with the light.
If you have ever doubted that children aren’t paying attention, I believe this note offers insight into just how much children see and hear. It is my sincere hope that together we might continue to present this picture of God’s unconditional love to the world from our corner.
