Thank you to our youth for creating and presenting a beautiful and meaningful worship service this past Sunday. It was a tribute to our Director of Student Ministries, Alden Procopio, but it was also a testament to how they have grown in faith and confidence. Thank you to our congregation for loving and supporting them along this journey of growing up!

Update on Mandy’s Place

The work progresses on the home of Carol and Mandy Jean. Pictured is the renovated covered deck. The work that has been accomplished: tore out the old deck and roof (that was not attached to the house roof, causing water to pour down onto back door), built new deck, ramp, stairs, and roof. Everything is clad in vinyl, and the tree that was encroaching on deck has been removed. Special thanks to: Ken Griffin who has given so much of his time and expertise to this project; Andy Borders and crew for removing the tree; the United Methodist Men’s Ministry for raising funds and investing themselves in the care of this dear family. We are looking at the next phase of the project and as the work continues, we will keep you posted. Thank you for your generosity toward Mandy’s Place.

When the landmarks of our youth change…
Earlier this week I was in Nashville to make a hospital call. When it came time to leave, I was in the initial phase of rush hour traffic. Having grown up there, I knew back roads and ways to avoid the interstate. What I found interesting is that those familiar landmarks from my growing up were either gone or at least changed. As I sat at a traffic light taking in the many changes that have occurred in my home town, I realized that despite the visible differences, it still felt oddly familiar. That same feeling of familiarity is what we have in The United Methodist Church – where we can step into a completely unknown place, but feel at home because of the grace that lives there. Who we are and how we are invades and penetrates everything around us. A stranger could walk into our sanctuary and feel God’s warmth and grace because you work to live out God’s grace. Thank you.
