Vacation Bible School!

“Shipwrecked” begins Sunday, July 15 at 5:00 p.m.! Join us for evenings of learning, play, and music as we learn that we’ve been Rescued! Leaders, remember to get your orders to Donna Brock this week. Decorating will be on Saturday, July 14. These are our adult leaders: Jon Brock and Lori Schuler (Music, opening and closing); Jeanie Phillips and Mary Gay Burton (Imagination Station); Vickie Hull, Kendra Pitner, Susannah Thompson, Dale Rucker (Ship Rec Games); Charlene Taylor, Christina Warinner, Donna Brock (Bible Discovery); Lori Jones, Vickie Hull (Food). Others will help youth with crew leaders. It promises to be a fun and exciting time for everyone!
Safety and Security Meeting – July 22
Our Safety and Security Team has always held open meetings and we continue to listen to the many voices of our congregation. We will hold a church-wide meeting on Sunday, July 22 in the sanctuary, immediately following worship. We want to hear not only opinions, but solutions. Safety continues to be a growing concern throughout our nation. We want to do what is best for everyone concerned.

Preaching Series: A Journey of Discipleship

Join us on “A Journey of Discipleship: Moving from who we are to who we can become in Christ.” This series does not presume that we are not already on this journey, but rather, that we can be more intentional in how we journey in our faith and our discipleship of Jesus Christ. Our “itinerary” for this trip is listed below. Each week we will receive a “boarding pass” for the task at hand for that day. Come, journey with us as we seek to strengthen our personal and collective discipleship.

On a personal note:

Thank you for the privilege of this time away with my son, William, and my sister. Since early childhood, William, has loved dinosaurs. It was his dream that he would be able to study paleontology at Montana State University with Dr. John “Jack” Horner (renowned expert on Tyrannosaurus Rex and advisor to the Jurassic Park films). When William was in his final year of his biology degree at Roane State Community College, he underwent testing which led to the diagnosis of Asperger’s Syndrome (on the Autism spectrum). I promised William then, that if we learned he would not be able to go to Montana State University, I would take him on a dig. That was fall 2010, so here we are at last! It is only because of who you are that I will be able to be gone these two weeks. You are a good and faithful church. I am blessed and honored to serve among you. Thank you.
Lanita
